Getting to know a Cambodian family and knowing our money was going to the family was fabulous. Thought accommodation and setting was great... even liked the showers!! Dancing and dinner with family last night WOW!!

Seeing the way rural people live, their friendliness and willingness to share what little they had was amazing and humbling. The access to a clean, safe reliable source water saves lives; something I don’t have to confront in Australia.

Giving back to move forward
In 2009, right in the midst of the Global Financial Crisis, TAG Group Director Andrew Browne and his brother Chris founded the then named One Percent. It was designed to offer a unique opportunity for members of the finance industry to visit one of Cambodia’s poorest municipalities to complete a housing project. A key feature of this experience was the element of “living, eating and engaging with the community. A key objective of The Humanitarian One Percent is to provide Australians with opportunities to “give back to move forward”. The Humanitarian One Percent is an Incorporated Association governed by a National Advisory Committee of Management. The Committee is represented by a Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary and three Committee Members. Fellow TAG Director, Tony Herbert now represents TAG Group on the board and has led his own group back to Cambodia to complete a life changing experience for 14 other Australians. If this sounds like something you would like to experience contact TAG or visit http://www.the1percent.org.au/.
